WILDLIFE, HERITAGE & HISTORY

If you love to look at the stars, watch the deer play in the woods, lie amongst the bluebells staring up into a woodland canopy, let the butterlies dance around you as you walk, then you are coming to the right place. With 25 Acres of woodland and ancient pasture sloping down to a cool clear stream wildlife and nature abound.

You will find wellies available in a variety of sizes for your use, maps, a picnic basket, a little rucksack with field glasses for your tots and lots of books to help you identify what you see all ready for you to use.

Leave plenty of time to see whats right on your doorstep while you are here, laze, gaze and relax.

The mixture of long established broadleaf woodland and very old permanent pasture that surrounds us is not unusual in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where we live. We are particularly pleased that part of our land is designated County Wildlife Site .  We manage our land as valuable habitat rather than simply for productivity and we have been honoured to have some highly respected experts record biodiversity here which has helped inform our management decisions. Below are some of the results from very specific surveys which you may find interesting. But there is plenty to wonder at even if you dont have a specialist interest!
