*THREE PLACES REMAINING*

With Gemma Trickey

A two-day introduction to relief printing repeat patterns, in which you will learn how to use the tools and techniques needed to design, carve and print your own designs. You will be taught the basics of repeat pattern design using geometric and botanical motifs and go on to design a pattern yourself. You will then be taught how to transfer your images to a block and use carving tools to make your designs into a relief block, which we will print using ink and rollers onto paper.

Gemma uses repeat blocks in order to produce designs for her beautiful range of wallpapers. You may like to take a look!

Please feel free to come with any images of pattern design that you find to draw inspiration from but reference books will also be available to look at. No previous experience is necessary, but improvers are very welcome.

£195 (plus materials approximately £5 or £15 to include a brand new set of lino tools to take away with you – please order when booking!)

Other useful details ...

Courses run 10am – 4pm, we will be glad to welcome you for coffee from 9.45am.

A selection of teas, coffee and soft drinks are inclusive and served throughout the day.

Please bring a packed lunch or see our ‘Boxed Lunch’ menu options available to pre-order.

Each course has a detailed requirements list so you know if there is anything in particular you will need to bring or wear. We try and keep this minimal and supply most of what you need, but we know that people also like to bring their own ‘kit’ if they have it. Please ensure you read your list carefully and do ask if there is anything that isn’t clear!

We also offer 4* B&B accommodation please enquire or see our course accommodation page full details – it is worth noting that during course times we only have attendees staying here so our accommodation is not available through the usual online system.

Printable directions and Google Map links to help you find The Old Kennels can be found on our  ‘How to Find Us’ page (sat nav will not bring you to the door as being rural the postcode area is quite large).

For answers to some frequently asked questions about courses please see our FAQs’ page.
